I contacted James following lower back issues I was having after the birth of my daughter. I had done a little research and a sports massage was recommended.

James booked me in the same day I contacted him. He was very knowledgeable and professional and I am happy to say the massage worked wonders.

My partner opted for a massage too and we would both highly recommend James!

- Dannii Todd

On time, knows his stuff, professional and really personable….. would definitely recommend and I will definitely be a repeat customer! Had really stiff neck, shoulders and upper back and was in pain and can feel the difference! Thank you

- Kirsty Wheatley

I was in desperate need of a sports massage after running and general wear and tear. James was able to talk me through the process and what each muscle was doing and why it was needed. Top notch!

- Lee McCutcheon

Great sports massage this morning from James Stacey. Might be able to get back to some kind of distance in running soon. Highly recommend. And he’s mobile so can come to you. Bonus!

Massage Therapy for Common Ailments

Tight muscles

When we exercise, our muscles build up lactic acid and get tired. Massage will help to get rid of the lactic, and rejuvenate the muscles.

Sciatica

Several clients have had nerve pains going from their back and down their leg. Massage helps relax the muscles around the area, increase range of motion and reduce the pain caused.

Posture related issues

A lot of jobs are at a desk nowadays. Our bodies will get used to being hunched over and this can cause back pain. Massage will help alleviate that pain.

About Me

I'm a mobile level 4 sports massage therapist with a passion for helping athletes of all levels achieve their goals. I started my journey as a maths graduate at the University of Sheffield in 2009, but after a series of unfulfilling jobs, I decided to make a change. I enrolled in a level 3 sports massage diploma in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the profession. I qualified in June of that year and couldn't wait to start my level 4 course.

While waiting for the level 4 course to start, I took online courses in K taping, cupping, kinesiology and reflexology to expand my knowledge and skillset. I began my level 4 studies in September 2021 and qualified in January 2022. In October 2022, I went full-time as a mobile sports massage therapist, while also providing maternity cover at Morpeth Chiropractic.

I'm a dedicated marathon runner and recently ran my 6th marathon in Berlin on 24th September 2023. I'm also a member of Low Fell Running Club.

Sports Massage Gateshead - FAQs

I'm usually seeing clients between 9am and 8pm.

This varies client to client. There can be some aches and occasionally bruising for a day or two before seeing the benefits.

Check out the prices section below for the price list.

Personally, I am normally on the table myself once a fortnight but this will vary depending on how active you are and your own circumstances. I'd usually recommend at least once a month.

I travel to wherever I'm needed throughout Tyne and Wear and beyond, including Washington, Crawcrook, Gosforth and Low Fell, where I am based.
